Dr. Katie McLeod – MD
Dr. Katie McLeod was born and raised in San Diego, California. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, and later worked as a behavior therapist, providing in-home applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder. She also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), supporting children in the foster care system.
Dr. McLeod went on to earn her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. During medical school, she remained committed to community service, volunteering at a local women’s and children’s center to provide healthcare and social support. She subsequently completed her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. There, she developed a deep passion for general pediatrics and for creating patient-centered medical homes in communities facing significant healthcare barriers.
Now in Anchorage following her husband’s military assignment, Dr. McLeod is excited to begin a new chapter with LaTouche Pediatrics and to care for families in the local community. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors with her husband and their rescue pup, Kona. She can often be found at the gym or on her Peloton, and she also loves hiking, skiing, and reading. She looks forward to discovering new hobbies as she settles into life in Alaska.
