Dr. Jaclin LaBarbera – MD, FAAP
Throughout medical school, Dr. LaBarbera knew that her heart was in working with children. After medical training at NYU, she stayed in New York City for pediatric residency at Cornell University, where she was involved in one of the first resident driven quality committees in the country. She then trained in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at University of California, San Francisco. Upon leaving fellowship, she spent the next 7 years in critical care, working with seriously ill infants and children. In 2018, Dr. LaBarbera retired from critical care medicine to practice general pediatrics in a rural health clinic in Oregon. There, she became medical director of the pediatric clinic and inpatient service as well as taking up mountain biking. Since that time, she has practiced general pediatrics in New York and California and is excited to embark on a new adventure in Alaska.
Whether supporting a family through critical illness or helping them navigate new parenthood, Dr. LaBarbera loves how the whole family is involved in a child’s care. She uses her prior ICU experience along with parenthood experiences in her work with families. She is especially passionate about breastfeeding and newborn medicine. She believes that the most important thing in pediatrics is forming relationships with families as they navigate the struggles of parenthood, medical complexity and wellness care.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, mountain biking, reading and wrangling her four boys.
