AMBER HILL – MD
Dr. Amber Hill was raised on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and is a US-Canadian dual citizen. At the age of 12, her family moved overseas to the United Arab Emirates, where she completed her middle and high school education. She then attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, followed by a Masters of Science in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. This led her to a career in public health focused on improving global maternal and child health through community-partnered projects. She has worked for public health organizations in the US, Canada, Switzerland, Guatemala, and Sierra Leone. During her public health practice, she discovered her passion for preventive medicine and direct patient care and pursued an MD/PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and Pediatrics Residency at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Hill enjoys working with patients of all ages, and has a special interest in adolescent health. Her work over the last decade has centered around preventing interpersonal violence among adolescents and improving our healthcare response to young people who have experienced trauma. She practices evidence-based and healing-centered medicine, working with patients and their families as partners in care.
Dr. Hill and her Michigander husband, Chris, are overjoyed to have settled in Anchorage. She is also incredibly excited to join LaTouche Pediatrics and serve the surrounding community! Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding, cooking, reading, playing piano, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
