Jo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her bachelor’s degree from Luther College in Iowa and completed her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California with an emphasis on mental health and military social services. Jo has experience working in schools as well as in inpatient mental health, but is thrilled to switch her focus towards outpatient treatment. She values the importance of human relationships and emphasizes a positive, person-centered approach in her therapeutic practice. She especially enjoys working with children and adolescents to overcome life’s obstacles with honesty and without judgment. Her professional life is committed to serving the needs of children and their families in our Alaskan communities.

Jo was born in Colorado, and thanks to the love of adventure and the Air Force, she has had the privilege of living in 9 different states throughout the years. She arrived in Alaska 5 years ago and is excited to call Anchorage her forever home with her husband and two sons. While not at work, she enjoys hiking, camping, nerdy board games, interior design and keeping up with her boys.
